<div class=Section1>
<p class=MsoNormal>A request was made this past weekend for more information being
passed to the crew regarding when people will be absent with or without coverage.
I understand that a few people would like this kind of information for various
reasons including knowledge when people show up as coverage for someone in
order to be able to direct them to the appropriate station/unit. I know
that I will not be consistent in sending out emails on a regular basis.
So, I think the solution follows:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#C0504D'>When you know that you will be
absent for a shift and have coverage, please send an email to the <u>crew2ubaight.com</u>
email address so that everyone will know.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#4F6228'>When you know that you will be
absent for a shift and you know that you will not have coverage, please send an
email to the <a href="mailto:crew2@ubaight.com"><span style='color:#4F6228'>crew2@ubaight.com</span></a>
email address so that everyone will know. In this event, everyone should continue
to report to the same station unless you are specifically informed otherwise by
either Lynn or me.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>The crew is pretty good about finding coverage. Please
make sure that continues. The expectation is that everyone will genuinely
look for coverage sufficiently in advance of a missed shift. If you’re
having difficulty finding coverage, please let Lynn and I know at least a few
days ahead of time, but you need not notify the crew until it’s more
definite (whatever that means). Genuinely looking for coverage requires
personal contact with other members of SVRS who would be in an appropriate
position to cover for you (equal in credentials first, then higher in
credentials). Blanket emails to all SVRS members and/or all SVRS
operational members are not the best method to genuinely look for
coverage. Merely posting on the Intranet is inadequate as well. If
you’re covering for others, they will be more inclined to respond and
cover for you.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>If you have any questions or comments, do not reply to all.
Instead, forward this message to me with your comments/questions.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
